Edinburgh Airport is the UK’s 6th busiest airport, and Scotland’s busiest airport, with nearly 10 million passengers traveling into or out from their terminals last year. Edinburgh Airport is based in Ingliston, an area just west of Edinburgh City centre. You can find an answer to all your Edinburgh Airport Parking needs here.
Edinburgh is Scotland’s capital and there is much to do within the city. The Scotch Whiskey Experience offer a liquid history tour of the Scottish national drink. Edinburgh Castle and Arthur’s Seat are also both entertaining attractions whilst visiting Edinburgh.
Alternative methods of transport to or from the airport, include taxi/transfer, buses and trains. If you’re looking for a taxi to or from the airport, head over to the Edinburgh Airport Guide who work closely with some great Edinburgh taxi companies, book in advance to save time and money. You can also find Edinburgh Airport Hotels and nearby B&Bs by using the guide, they list latest hotel offers and their distances from the airport.

Outrageous Charge For Drop Off
The new charge for dropping people off at the airport is absolutely outrageous. It’s akin to extortion as you don’t know before you drive in about the charge, and you can’t get out without paying it. And there are no other options for those of us living in the borders for betting to the airport. I’m a frequent business traveller but will be doing everything I can to avoid using Edinburgh airport – especially bearing in mind the other new strategy of asking you to pay £5 to avoid the security queues that they have created.
Small But Nice
As a frequent flyer, I travel through Edinburgh airport three or four times a month, so I know it well. The first thing to note is that it is a very small airport, so getting around is not a problem. Despite being small, there are several bars, coffee shops and restaurants for getting something to eat or drink. More importantly, small means efficient and regardless of how busy the airport gets during peak hours, there is always an abundance of polite and friendly staff there to help you check in and get through security quickly. The transport to and from the airport is also (via bus or taxi) is also very good and it’s only a twenty minute taxi ride to the city centre. The owners have just announced a large expansion project, which should hopefully make it more comparable to other European airports, such as Glasgow, Copenhagen, Vienna, etc. All in all, it’s like my title says, small but nice.

Very nice and big airport ( At least for my standards ) I was very suprised how busy it was when i flew in mid august 2020! although not much shops open but when the planes land on runway 24 from the terminal you get a very good view so you could do some plane spotting in the main time whilst you wait for your flight you could take a coffe from costa and relax and look at the planes or record them but overall i rate this very efficent airport a big Fat 9.
