Beirut Rafic Hariri International Airport Reviews (11)
It's OK
It is clean and nice, but very boring. Also, the workers there are lazy and rude (especially to African and Asian people). It needs more shopping and dining options. Dubai’s airport is much much better.
Nice Airport
It’s a splendid airport, it’s a nice area to go around, the stuff of all section are very helpful and so friendly, it is so clean and have all the facilities that a person needs, the duty free have all varieties.
Excellent Airport
I am a frequent flyer and every time I visit the airport in Beirut, I notice that it is really one of the best airports. It is a modern airport and its services are great. The departures duty free offers everything you expect. The arrivals duty free is quite modest. It is perfectly organized.
Customs Was A Pain
The airport is small and easy to get around, though access to the city can be tricky. Overall, a decent airport, though customs was a pain.
Boring But Nice
This airport is decent, but boring. Food options not so great, but the duty free has some good choices. It is clean and easy to get around. Service provided by workers is mixed, some are lazy, but others are very nice and helpful. It just doesn’t have that ‘wow’ factor that other airports have. Not the best the region has to offer, but not the worst either.
Bland And Blah
The airport is nice and pleasant, but hardly stands out. Very drab and blah. Can’t compare to the one in Dubai at all. Service is very inconsistent, some people are really helpful and friendly, others make it seem like they are doing you a favour if they help you when it’s their job to do so! Then again, I was flying first, and most of the helpful attitude I received was in the first class lounge (small but nice). God help the people flying economy! Honestly, it’s not all that bad, it’s just not that great.
So-so
An all-right airport. A bit bland and stale, they are trying to add some color with paintings and plants but it still feels like a hospital. The duty free is decent (it’s not Heathrow or anything on that level), but prices are rising. In fact, the focus seems to be more on selling you things than anything else. The dining options, for example, are rather limited. Service is adequate if not exceptional. Honestly, for all the hype, I was expecting a little more. On the plus side, it is clean and easy to get around.
Ticket Counter
The airport is fine, organized, staff everywhere to assist. My situation was that as I tried to change a flight time with Emirates on the phone, they told me to pay the difference in fare at the Beirut airport ticket counter. However Emirates airlines does not have a ticket counter there that accepts payments. The ticket counter that there is, works for other airlines… In the end somehow I managed to come home.
Transporting Problems
The airport as such is good, but transfer between the airport and the city is difficult. If you do not wish to pay triple price to the taxi drivers, your only option is go on foot – it is between 5 and 8 km to the different part of city. I’ve heard, that a bus is going via nearby roundabout (1 km from terminal), but many aircrafts arrive in the middle of the night and in any case Beirout buses are known for their unreliability.
What It Was A Year Ago. . .
Great airport, used to be new and vast, incredible place for such a small country… Hope it hasn’t been too damaged.
Every Airport has Starbucks cafe we need Starbucks and other well known cafes.
