In 1960 I flew into the Hellinikon Airport on a Jet from Istanbul. In 1960 you usually paid a premium for Jet flights, but I was upgraded free on SAS. I was one of only 5 persons on the flight. When we landed I remarked how beautiful the water and beach looked. I asked if it were possible to go swimming, the lady at the desk said I could change in her office and leave my suitcase there. I went swimming, came back and being only 22 years old, asked for the cheapest lodging in Athens. She told me to go to the Hotel Ermion, and say that Sue sent me as ask for room 555. There was no room 555 but I got the cheapest and probably smallest room in Athens then, for $2.00 a night. I was on my way home to the USA from an Archaeological Expedition at Bethel, 18 miles North of Jerusalem with my school, Pittsburgh Theological Seminary.
